Hand Tools And Books

Our retail store is available only to our students.

You will need hand tools during your training here. We offer a tool kit with the items listed below to each of our students. We can provide loaner tools for students who cannot afford to purchase their own. We use a variety of brand named items from Anvil Brand, Mustad, Nordic, Diamond, St. Croix, NC Tool Co., Yoders, and Delta. We put together a very nice and reasonably priced set of basic shoeing tools for you. Whether you purchase the entire set at one time or each item individually the prices are the same and will be current at the time of your class.

Please note: We provide a separate list of tools for your convenience so you may purchase, borrow or bring your own tools. Feel free to compare our tool list of products and prices with those from Stockhoff's of Kentucky, Anvil Brand of Illinois and NC Tools of North Carolina. (prices are subject to change periodically)

You will use OUR anvils and equipment during school. If desired, you may purchase your own. Anvils are available from $300.00-$465.00. We have several to choose from, during or after your training.

Budget

In order to start a successful Farrier business you can safely estimate your needing an additional $700.00 to $1,200.00 in equipment other than hand tools (i.e. anvil, anvil stand, hoof stand, forge, shoes, nails, etc.) after finishing school. Every item you learn to use during training, we have available for purchase in our store.
